May Extradition Hearing Postponed until September 7, due to Coronavirus

APR 29, 2020 —

Last Monday judge Vanessa Baraitser agreed to postpone the extradition hearing which was scheduled from 18 May due to Coronavirus. It is to be confirmed yet whether it will go ahead this summer or beginning of November.

Julian Assange didn’t attend his own hearing on Monday because of the advice of his doctors due to the risk of infection from Covid-19 while transiting from his prison cell to the interview room.

“Julian has a suppressed immune system due to prolonged confinement over a period of 8 years in inhumane conditions & pre-existing lung condition exacerbated by years of arbitrary detention making him even more vulnerable to the Coronavirus.” Joseph Farrell – WikiLeaks ambassador said.
